Kansas Wesleyan University was founded in 1886 and is affiliated
with the United Methodist Church.
ACCREDITATION:

Central Association of Colleges and Schools, National
League for Nursing, National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education, Kansas
State Department of Education, Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs, and Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education.
ENROLLMENT:
897 students, the majority from Kansas and surrounding
states.
ACADEMICS:
Liberal Arts foundation; more than 27 major programs: MBA,
BA, BS, BASB, BSN, AA, AAS degrees; plus an evening degree
completion program for adults in business management. Average class size: 20; student-faculty
ratio 14:1. Member of the Associated
Colleges of Central Kansas (ACCK),
a consortium of six academic institutions within 70 miles
of KWU through which students may enroll in courses and resources.
ACTIVITIES:
Student government, clubs, publications and drama groups.
Twelve varsity teams
with competition through NAIA,
Division II; men and women: basketball, track and field, cross-country,
golf, soccer, tennis, cheer; men only: football, baseball;
women only: volleyball, softball, dance. Plus intramural sports.
CAMPUS
& LOCATION: The 28-acre KWU campus is located in the center of the country (literally)—Salina, Kansas. It’s a city with a population of 48,000 that has a hometown atmosphere but lives large.
