The KWU Medical and Health Society was established to help students interested in the health profession make contact with established health professionals.

During bimonthly meetings, the group hosts speakers who talk about their experiences in human and animal medicine. Each year, the society awards an annual plaque to an outstanding student member.

The club is now in its 12th year and was begun by then Biology faculty member Dr. Weston Opitz, now retired, and A&P students Debbie Campbell, Levita Spargo, and Shirley Williams who coined the noted “Die Hard” group logo.
