Department of History Programs and Events
In addition to a commitment to excellence in the classroom, the KWU Department of History coordinates special events throughout the school year. The most important of these includes the Annual Holocaust Remembrance and Genocide Awareness Week (held in mid-April). Between 2012 and 2014 the KWU Department of History also coordinated the Annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemoration Week (held in mid-January). In Spring of 2012 the KWU Department of History was host to the 86th Annual Kansas Association of Historians Conference. For the last few years KWU Department of History has also presented the annual Constitution Day event (held in mid-September). The Department of History also plays a major role in the KWU partnership with the Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum. Many other events on the KWU campus have and continue to be co-sponsored by the Department of History. Please see links to the right and postings below for more information on past, current, and upcoming issues and events.
