Students of Students Music Lesson Program

You are here

Helping your child succeed with music while helping to prepare tomorrow's teachers!

The Students of Students Lesson Program is designed to provide low-cost music lessons to students in and around the Salina area while allowing future music teachers the invaluable chance to practice teaching. All teachers in the program are Kansas Wesleyan students who are music or music education majors or who are highly involved with the music program. Student teachers chosen for this program must display strong musical skills, work ethic and organization. Additionally, all student teachers will be mentored and advised by KWU Music Faculty.

Cost

Unless listed, lessons cost $10/30 minutes, $15/45 minutes or $20/hour. You will find the price-per-lesson is much lower than those of area professional private teachers. The reduced price is not only to help make lessons affordable, but signify that our teachers are still novices learning their trade.

When and Where?

The lessons will be set up individually by each teacher. Lessons will take place in the music wing (lower level) of Pioneer Hall on the KWU campus.

Program Director

The Students of Students Lesson Program is directed by Sarah Bernard-Stevens, Assistant Professor of Music at Kansas Wesleyan. Any questions, concerns or issues can be directed to her: sarah.bernard-steven@kwu.edu
