Athletic Training Retention Policy

Kansas Wesleyan University Athletic Training Education Program abides by the same University requirements for a Bachelor’s Degree for the degree of Bachelors of Arts in Athletic Training.

Requirements for a  Bachelor’s of Arts in Athletic Training:

• A minimum of 126 credit hours.
• At least 48 of the last 62 academic credit hours or 24 of the last 33 credit hours taken at KWU.
• A limit of 30 hours from applicable correspondence or extension courses.
• At least 63 credit hours taken from a four-year institution.
• Completion of the Liberal Studies component and the academic major as described in the appropriate sections of the catalog.
• Completion of at least 12 credit hours of the major at KWU.
• Maintenance of a cumulative GPA of 2.00. If only a portion of the course work is taken at KWU, the KWU GPA must also be at least 2.00.
• No more than 48 credit hours in the major department unless otherwise approved as part of the major program.
• Fulfillment of major program requirements, Liberal Studies requirements, and GPA requirements.
• Application for and completion of all requirements of all requirements for graduation as listed under “Application for Graduation.”
• Approval by a majority of a quorum of the Faculty.
• Only one grade of a “D” and no grade of “F” can be counted toward a major or minor.
