The KWU Medical and Health Society was established to help students interested in the health profession make contact with establishes health professionals.
During bimonthly meetings, the group hosts speakers, who provide oral presentations about such fields as human and animal medicine. Each year, the society awards an annual plaque to an outstanding student member.
The club is now in its 6th year and was begun by Dr. Weston Opitz and A&P students Debbie Campbell, Levita Spargo, and Shirley Williams who coined the noted “Die Hard” group logo.


KWU has been an influential part of higher education in North Central Kansas for more than a century. Founded in 1886 by the United Methodist Church, KWU welcomes students of all faiths.
KWU's primary goal is providing students with an excellent education in a caring Christian campus community. The university is uncompromising in its dedication to providing an atmosphere where students can mature and learn while taking responsibility for their own actions and lives.
The campus environment helps students prepare for the challenges in their personal and professional lives by living and studying with people from many backgrounds, by learning to relate responsibly to God and to others by achieving goals in a timely manner.
