From Clearwater, KS, Allie Palmer '15 was a member of Corpus Juris, the criminal justice/law club at KWU, and hopes to become a lawyer. During the Fall of 2014, she was chosen as one of two interns at Marzulla Law, LLC, a small environmental civil law firm in downtown D.C.
Within twenty minutes of arriving, Palmer was reading a witness deposition and summarizing important details.
Soon she was creating case briefs, writing blog posts summarizing cases, and doing in-depth research to prep the partners before conference calls and hearings. Her days were filled with environmental and legal conferences, webinars, and discussion panels, including those involving Speaker of the House John Boehner, U.S. Representative Anna Eshoo (CA), and a Supreme Court Term Preview. Palmer also took notes and observed counsel during cross-examination in court hearings for a high profile case.
Allie was invited by the law partners to join their table at the black tie dinner hosted by their firm at the United States Supreme Court for 200 lawyers from around the world. Palmer knows the legal experience she gained alone will set her apart from other law school applicants.
