Former Governor Graves to make KWU Sports Complex Fundraising Announcement Oct. 16
Kansas Wesleyan University invites the public and the media to be present when former Kansas Governor Bill Graves ’76, and legendary KWU football coach Gene Bissell will make an announcement regarding the conclusion of the fundraising campaign for the new Sports Complex.
The public announcement will be made at 5 p.m. Thursday Oct. 16, 2014, in a tent next to the Student Activities Center [Rain location: inside the Student Activities Center].
Mr. Graves served as national chair, and Coach Bissell served as honorary chair, of the Sports Complex fundraising committee. The announcement event kicks off Homecoming Weekend for the university, when Bissell's 1971 football team, which included Graves, will be inducted into the Coyote Hall of Fame, along with other teams and individual athletes, during a breakfast and awards ceremony at 8 a.m. Saturday Oct. 18 in Muir Gymnasium ($10 per person; reservations at kwu.edu/homecoming).

The work of spreading stone on top of the game field at the new Sports Complex is coming along steadily. This is part of the drainage system that will lie under the articifical turf playing surface. Also, the prep work for installing the electrical power boxes for the entire complex has begun.
