Travel and Serve in Costa Rica, Summer 2015

You are here

Looking for an amazing travel and serve opportunity during the summer of 2015? Open to all denominations, this travel and serve experience is specifically designed for students, alumni, friends, and family of KWU!

This Service Mission opportunity is partnering with Campus Ministries at KWU. Joining with UMC ministry partners in Costa Rica you will engage in a mission team experience as we show and share Christ throughout the country in a variety of life-changing ways.

This Journey has been customized for the ministry minded alumni, friends and family (all ages) who would like to serve in several communities throughout the country. All projects during this mission trip will be supporting the long-term relationships we are establishing. We will begin our Journey in San Carlos and move into the northern region where we engage in serving projects at the location of alumnus Marion Woods and his wife Mary, school partners in Nuevo Arenal and spend a day of adventures in La Fortuna.

You may choose from all kinds of projects during the week such as cooking for the team, bible school with the kids, teaching music or arts, construction, landscaping, reforestation efforts and more. Its about finding the ways that you are led2serve others. All lodging will be arranged between hotels, cabinas and the cabins. Great local food, wonderful accommodations and a beautiful setting as you travel the country, engaging in meaningful service. A wonderful time for exploring Costa Rica, seeing the amazing sights and engaging in life-changing projects. You will be accompanied by an experienced led2serve Journey Leader.

There will be times built in for adventures, time to explore, dinners on your own, and more. Adventure choices could include zip-lining, horeseback riding, rafting, or hiking the volcano.
