Menke’s walk-off double in game 1 fuels Coyotes’ split with Friends After Friends tied the game in the bottom of the seventh of game one, senior Jenny Menke came through sending a two-out double to the fence in left center that scored Aimee Fisher to give Kansas Wesleyan a 3-2 win. However, the Falcons rallied in the second game for a 10-1 win as Friends and the Coyotes split a softball doubleheader on Wednesday at Bill Burke Park. (more info...)

 

 

 

Coyotes rally to split with Sterling in softball With Jenny Menke, one of the Coyotes’ top hitters, sitting on the bench after dislocating her shoulder, things did not look so good for the Kansas Wesleyan Coyotes heading into Friday’s doubleheader with the Sterling Warriors. After dropping the opening game 9-5 to the Warriors, the Coyotes scored five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning of the nightcap to come away with a 12-7 win and split the doubleheader with the Warriors at Bill Burke Park (more info...)

 

 

Coyotes unable to get by McPherson The Kansas Wesleyan softball team was looking to break out of its recent slump heading into Wednesday’s doubleheader with McPherson College at Bill Burke Park. Despite two well played games, a defensive miscue in the eighth of game one, and a late rally in game two that fell just short, the Coyotes were swept by the Bulldogs 4-2 and 7-6. Wesleyan rallies to beat Avila, completes weekend sweep Kansas Wesleyan rallied from a 3-0 deficit, scoring the go ahead run in the bottom of the sixth as the Coyotes defeated Avila (Mo.) 4-3 on Sunday afternoon at Bill Burke Park. Hastings spoils KWU Softball home opener Kansas Wesleyan opened the home portion of its 2009 softball schedule on Monday, but the Hastings Broncos played spoiler, sweeping the Coyotes 13-3 and 10-2 at the Salina South High School fields. (more info...)
