Several baseball players named All-KCAC

Several Kansas Wesleyan University Baseball players have been named to the All-KCAC teams for 2006. While there were no First Team honorees, nine players shared Second Team and Honorable Mention honors.
Head Coach Dave Dawson was named KCAC Co-Coach of the Year along with Ottawa’s Jarrod Titus.
AJ Anthony, a senior from Granada Hills, Calif., was named Second Team All-KCAC at first base. He had a team best 54 hits on the season while batting a team best .344 with three homeruns and one triple. He also had 11 doubles on the season, second best for the Coyotes. His 54 hits was fifth best in the KCAC, and his 11 doubles was sixth best in the conference. Anthony also was ranked tenth in doubles per game.

Carlos Sanchez, a junior from Phoenix, Ariz., was named Second Team All-KCAC at third base. Sanchez hit .274 on the season with 17 hits and four homeruns.
Andrew Gulla, a junior from Phoenix, Ariz., was named Second Team All-KCAC at catcher. Gulla hit .342 on the season, second best for the Coyotes. He also had 53 hits which was second best for the Coyotes. Gulla did have team bests in RBI’s (46), homeruns (9), doubles (12), and stolen bases (13). Gulla was ranked third in the KCAC in total RBI’s, fourth in RBI’s per game, fourth in total doubles, fifth in doubles per game, third in total homeruns, sixth in homeruns per game, ninth in total stolen bases and ninth in stolen bases per game.

Rob Ozga, a senior from Phoenix, Ariz., was named Second Team All-KCAC as a pitcher. Ozga pitched in 13 games, starting two. He was 1-3 with a 5.95 ERA, while pitching 42.1 innings and having two complete games. He also recorded 25 strikeouts against 16 walks in 2006.
David Price, a junior from Wichita, was named Second Team All-KCAC at designated hitter. Price batter .336 for the Coyotes this season and had 36 hits. His eight homeruns on the season was second best for the Coyotes, and ranked fifth in the KCAC. He was also ranked third in homeruns per game in the conference. Price also drove in 30 RBI’s this season.

Matt Garretson, a junior from Assaria, was named Honorable Mention All-KCAC at short stop. Garretson batted .288 for the Coyotes this season, with 36 hits, eight doubles and 12 RBI’s.
Trevor Howell, a senior from Denver, Colo., was named Honorable Mention All-KCAC in the outfield. Howell batted .339 this season with 19 hits and 16 RBI’s.
Adam Carroll, a senior from Perris, Calif., was named Honorable Mention All-KCAC. Carroll hit .328 this season with 39 hits and 23 RBI’s. He also had 11 stolen bases this season.

L'Hommedieu |
Travis L’Hommedieu, a junior from Wichita, was named Honorable Mention All-KCAC. L’Hommedieu batted .309 this season with 42 hits, nine doubles and seven homeruns. His homerun total was eighth best in the KCAC this season.
The Coyotes finished the 2005 season with a 17-33 record overall, and a 7-17 mark in the KCAC.
