NAIA Region IV Baseball Tournament Information
By: David Toelle, KWU Sports Information

OMAHA, Neb. -- The NAIA Region IV Baseball tournament begins today at Westgate Field in Omaha, Neb. The tournament is hosted by Bellevue University.

Three teams from the Kansas Conference (KCAC) and three teams from the Midlands Conference (MCAC) have qualified and are seeded accordingly:

1. Bellevue (Neb.)
2. Bethany (Kan.)
3. Friends (Kan.)
4. Park (Mo.)
5. York (Neb.)
6. Kansas Wesleyan

From the KCAC, Bethany and Friends were automatic qualifiers, finishing no.1 and no.2 in the final KCAC baseball standings. KWU advanced by virtue of winning the KCAC Post-Season Tournament. In the MCAC, Bellevue qualified by winning the MCAC Regular Season Title. Park and York advanced by having the best records in the MCAC Tournament, which was not completed due to adverse weather conditions.

Play begins this afternoon at 1 p.m. when Bellevue and Kansas Wesleyan face each other in the opening game. Games were originally scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. this morning, but were pushed back two hours.

As scores and information comes in, it will be posted not only at www.kcacsports.com, but on the KWU athletics website.
