Coyotes take out Williams Baptist 2-1
By: David Toelle, KWU Sports Information

WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. – Casey Barnes pitched a complete game, giving up no earned runs, and Nick Allaire knocked a game-winning pinch hit homerun in the top of the seventh as Kansas Wesleyan opened its 2008 Spring Break Baseball trip with a 2-1 win over Williams Baptist (Ark.) on Monday afternoon.

The Coyotes are making “a tour of the south” with four games in four days in four different states against four different teams. The trip opened today with the contest against Williams Baptist (6-13).

Barnes improved his record to 2-0 in his tenth start of the season, tossing his first complete game of the year. Wesleyan improves its overall record to 8-5.

The Coyotes continue their “Tour of the South” tomorrow when they head to Memphis, Tenn., to take on Crichton College at Gagliano Field. Wesleyan then faces William Carey (Miss.) in Hattiesburg, Miss., at Milton Wheeler Field on Wednesday, and will wrap up the trip on Thursday in New Orleans against Loyola University at Segnette Field.
