Coyote harriers run better at Tabor Invite

The Coyote Cross Country team traveled to Marion Reservoir on Saturday the 24th. After last weeks performances we were looking to come back and go after some much better times and we definitely achieved that at the Tabor Invite.

On the ladies side we had a pretty good days some much better performances. Our top performance finally came from Nicole Heptig, she started off the year pretty slow but has begun to pick it up and her times are showing. She finished first place over all and beating the rest of the field by 13 seconds. Her time of 20:00 was only 9 seconds off the school record that she set last year. Andrea Velez and Ashley Toews we also in the top 15 with Andrea coming in 3rd and Ashley coming in 14th. We are on path to where we need to be and hope to continue to improve.

On the men's side our top runner was Gabe Russell who came in 26th place with a pretty fast group. We are still struggling to get health on the women's and men's side and a much need weekend off will hopefully give them time to heal up.

I would like to invite everybody out to the KWU morning fun run on October 1st during the homecoming weekend at 7:00 a.m. We will be meeting at Pioneer Hall and there will be a 3 mile and 5 mile run. We also will be hosting our home meet October 8th in conjunction with Salina Cental at Bill Burke Park. High School will run in the morning and College/University at 12:00.
