KWU Cross Country and Track signs Mason Benn

Kansas Wesleyan track and cross country coach Jeff Barker has signed Mason Benn to a letter of intent.

Benn, a native of Nevada, Mo., has spent the last two seasons at Allen County Community College in Iola, Kan., running for coach Clinton Fletcher.

He finished 31st in the 2007 NJCAA Region VI Cross Country Championships, running a 27:58 for the 8K course.

In track, he finished 17th in the 800m at the 2007 NJCAA Region VI Championships, running a 2:03.60. He also competed in the 1500m run, finishing 12th with a 4:17.19, and was part of Allen County’s 3200m relay team that finished seventh with a 8:22.85.

Mason is the son of Robert Benn, Jr., and Christine Broadway.
