Kansas Wesleyan Track/CC sign three to letters of intent

Kansas Wesleyan University continues its trend of signing high caliber student-athletes from the Arizona area as head track and cross country coach Jeff Barker announces the signing of three Arizona junior college student-athletes to letters of intent.
Signing with Wesleyan are Michael Rascon, Jose Silva and Robert McClung.
Rascon, a native of Tucson, comes to Wesleyan after spending the last two years at Pima Community College in Tuscon.
Rascon finished 30th in last fall’s ACCAC cross country championships, running for coach Greg Wenneberg. This spring, Rascon finished third in the NJCAA Region I track meet in the steeplechase, and won the ACCAC-Pima 5000m.
Before Pima, he prepped at Sunnyside High School.
Michael is the son of Rosa and Horaldo Rascon of Tucson.

Silva |
Silva, a native of Glendale, Ariz., comes to Kansas Wesleyan after running the last two years at Phoenix College in Phoenix, Ariz., running for coach Iris Gordon. In the ACCAC Cross Country championships last fall, Silva finished 63rd with a time of 35:08.
Prior to attending Phoenix College, Silva prepped at Glendale High School where he was a four-year letterwinner in track and cross country, and was a two-year letterwinner in soccer.
He is the son of Jose Silva, Jr., of Glendale.

McClung |
McClung, a native of Surprise, Ariz., also ran for coach Gordon at Phoenix College. In last fall’s ACCAC championships, McClung finished with a 31:54, earning 50th place.
Before Phoenix College, McClung prepped at Dysart High School, where he was a nationals qualifier his junior and senior year.
He is the son of Carol McClung and Robert Pinkney of Surprise, Ariz.
Kansas Wesleyan University is located in Salina, Kansas, and is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), and plays in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC). The KCAC is a conference of ten small private institutions all located in the state of Kansas.
