Cross
Country concludes season at NAIA Region IV Championships
by: Zach Kindler, KWU Cross Country Coach
The Coyotes
cross country season came to an end Saturday at the NAIA Region
IV meet. The women ran very strong and competed hard against
some of the nation's best teams. We came in 14th out of 27 teams.
Only one KCAC school placed ahead of us which was Tabor, who
was out for revenge after placing second last week at the conference
meet. Our number one runner was Nicole who ran a good race coming
in 30th place out of 150 ladies. The time that she ran was nearly
one minute faster than last year's time at this meet. Only being
a sophomore, she will be running with the top runners by the
time she is a senior. Out of the other six runners, only two
are seniors, Elizabeth and Meredith Harns, who will be missed
but with new freshman coming in and the returners stepping up,
I am already excited for next season. Once again I will like
to thanks everybody for all to support that you have given both
the men's and women's cross country teams and for also making
my first season here at Kansas Wesleyan so enjoyable. We now
look onwards toward indoor track which will get underway in
January. Lets make sure that we cheer on the rest of the teams
still remaining in their seasons and always remember to have
a great day! |
