By: David Toelle, KWU Sports Information

For the second week in a row, a Kansas Wesleyan player has earned KCAC Special Teams Player of the Week honors.

This week, place kicker Anthony Padilla received the award for his efforts in KWU’s 40-7 win over McPherson College on October 21.

Padilla, who also plays soccer at KWU, connected on a 49-yard field goal, setting a new KWU record. The previous record was 47 yards by Myles Pitts in 2004. He also had eight kickoffs for 403 yards, including a sky kick that was recovered by the Coyotes setting up a 27-yard touchdown pass on the next play.

Kansas Wesleyan improved to 7-0 overall and 6-0 in the KCAC with the win over McPherson, and retained its no.10 NAIA ranking in this week’s poll. The Coyotes travel to North Newton to face no.20 ranked Bethel College this week.
