Kansas Wesleyan was picked by both the coaches and the media representing the KCAC to finish second at the 2007 KCAC Football Media Day held at the Salina Country Club.
Friends was picked by both coaches and media as the pick to win the conference, while Bethel was third and Sterling was picked fourth in both polls.
KWU head coach Dave Dallas was optimistic about his team’s outlook for the upcoming season, which opens September 8 when the Coyotes host Bethel at Salina Stadium.
“I think we are going to be a very good football team,” he said. “I don’t think there’s going to be any question about that.”
Dallas also touched on the point of the Coyotes playing their home games at Salina Stadium this season, instead of Martin Stadium.
“We have a little bit of a new venue this year, we will be playing our games at Salina Stadium,” Dallas said. “We are excited about playing there and it’s a nice situation for us.”
Tabor was picked fifth in both polls, followed by Ottawa in sixth and McPherson was seventh in the coaches’ poll, but traded spots in the media poll. Southwestern was picked eighth collectively, while Saint Mary was picked ninth in both polls and Bethany was picked tenth.
