By: David Toelle, KWU Sports Information

Steve Valliere

Kansas Wesleyan kick returner Steve Valliere has been named as the KCAC Special Teams Player of the Week for his efforts in the Coyotes’ 52-13 win over non-conference opponent Southwestern Assemblies of God (Texas) last Saturday in Waxahachie, Texas.

Valliere returned two kicks for 48 yards, with a long of 27 yards. There were only two times that SAGU kicked off during the game, following both of the Lions’ touchdown drive.

Valliere, a senior slot receiver from Redding, Calif., also added 57 yards rushing and 20 yards receiving in the game.

With the win, Kansas Wesleyan improved to 2-1 overall. The Coyotes are back in action this weekend as they travel to Winfield to take on Southwestern College with a scheduled kickoff at 1:30 from Sonner Stadium.
