Kansas Wesleyan announces 2008 football signing class

Kansas Wesleyan University head football coach Dave Dallas announces the signing of 26 football players as part of National Signing Day.

Headlining the list is local product linebacker A.J. Farmer from Salina Central High School. Farmer was a three-year starter at Central and led the Mustangs in tackles last fall with 142 -- 16 for losses. He finished his career with 347 tackles and ranks fourth on the school's career list.  Farmer, who earned first team all-Ark Valley Chisholm Trail League honors last fall, also was named First Team All-State.

Other signees from Salina include Ray Parker (5-8, 200, RB, Montelair, Va.) from St. John’s Military School. Park was named First Team All-League and First Team All-State, and received the Kansas Sportsman Award.

David Shaw DB 5-8 175 Wichita, Kan. (Kapaun-Mt.Carmel HS)

Kapaun was District Champs in 2006 and 2007, and Shaw was named All-City defensive back in 2006


Dustin Hoffner DE 6-5 265 Topeka, Kan. (Independence CC (Kan.))
Hoffer was an All-City Top 11 selection in Topeka in 2005, was All-League defensive line in 2005 and was named All-State Class 5A.

Alec Philip QB 6-1 180 Wamego, Kan. (Wamego HS)

Philip was named 2006 Offensive Player of the Year
