Kansas Wesleyan Men’s Basketball finished the 2009 season, just one win away from its second trip to the NAIA National Tournament for the second time in three years. In 2010, the Coyotes look to take the next step. Head Coach Mike Davert and Assistant Coach Brandon Lesovsky announce four signings for the upcoming season that will definitely be an asset in Wesleyan’s hopes of punching another ticket to Branson in 2010. Five KWU Men’s Basketball players named All-KCAC Five Kansas Wesleyan University Men’s Basketball players have earned All-Conference honors as the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference announced its 2009 All-KCAC teams at the Men’s Basketball Tournament Championship game on Monday night in Salina. Late Wesleyan rally not enough as Ottawa holds on for 80-77 win Senior guard Trey Sims had two good looks at potential game winning three’s in the waning seconds of the KCAC Championship, but couldn’t find paydirt. A furious Kansas Wesleyan rally that saw the Coyotes take a 64-63 lead with 7:48 to go wasn’t quite enough either. The Coyotes saw their hopes of a National Tournament bid dashed as the Ottawa Braves knocked off Wesleyan 80-77 in the KCAC Men’s Basketball Championship on Monday night at Mabee Arena. Coyotes defeat Saint Mary 80-75 to advance to KCAC Championship Even without Trey Sims, everything was okay. Kansas Wesleyan held off the Saint Mary Spires in an 80-75 decision to earn a spot in Monday night’s KCAC Tournament Championship game. It was a total team effort with five Coyotes finishing in double figures led by Matt Dickman’s 18 in his first start of the season in place of Sims. (more info...)
