Marcus Faubion has been named as KCAC Men’s Basketball Co-Player of the Week for his efforts in two wins last week for the Coyotes. This is the third time this season Faubion has been named as KCAC Player of the Week.
Faubion’s efforts helped Kansas Wesleyan post two wins last week against Friends (Kan.) and Sterling (Kan.), as the Coyotes extended its winning streak to 11 games.
In a 71-51 win at home over Friends, Faubion scored 19 points and pulled down 13 rebounds. He also had two assists, three steals and a block.
In the 71-57 win on the road at Sterling, he had 19 points and 10 rebounds, one assist, two steals and two blocks.
For the week, he was 15-of-27 shooting for 55.6 percent. He was 1-of-3 from behind the arc and 7-of-13 from the free throw line. Teams consistently double and triple-team Faubion and he still is the Coyotes’ leading scorer and rebounder.
The no.10 ranked Coyotes complete the home portion of their regular season schedule this week as they host Tabor on Thursday, and Bethel on Saturday. The Coyotes then wrap up the regular season on the road next Thursday at McPherson and at Saint Mary next Saturday.
