Baseball and Softball pre-season polls released

WICHITA – The KCAC Baseball and Softball pre-season polls have been released after KCAC Baseball and Softball Media Day was held at Friends University.

In Baseball, Kansas Wesleyan was picked to finish fifth in the conference this season.

Bethany led the poll with 44 points and four first place votes, Ottawa was second with 38 points and two first place votes and Saint Mary was picked to finish third with 35 points and one first place vote.

In Softball, the Lady Coyotes were picked to finish eighth in the conference this season.

Friends was picked to win the conference with 74 points and five first place votes. Ottawa was picked second with 68 points and two first place votes and Sterling rounded out the top three with 65 points and one first place vote.

Seven of the ten Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference schools field baseball teams. They include: Bethany, Friends, Kansas Wesleyan, Ottawa, Saint Mary, Sterling and Tabor.

Nine institutions field softball teams including: Bethany, Friends, Kansas Wesleyan, McPherson, Ottawa, Saint Mary, Southwestern, Sterling and Tabor.
