Six Women’s Soccer Players named All-KCAC

Six Kansas Wesleyan Women’s Soccer players have been named All-KCAC as selected by the conference coaches on Sunday.
Four Coyotes were named First Team All-KCAC selections including two repeat selections from last season. Jessica Resendez and Kelly Holloway both repeated as First Team selections at defender.
Freshman Heather Muilenburg was named All-KCAC at forward, tying for the lead in the KCAC at goals scored per game at .94 gpg with Friends’ Lisa Ratzlaff. Midfielder Juliet Cervantes also earned First Team All-KCAC honors.

Whitney Johnson repeated her Second Team All-KCAC honor from 2005, earning second team honors again this season at midfield. Annie Ortega was also named Second Team All-KCAC at midfield.
Wesleyan also earned four of the six KCAC individual awards. Muilenburg was named KCAC Freshman of the Year, Cervantes was named Newcomer of the Year, Resendez and Holloway shared Defensive Player of the Year honors, and coach Mike Dibbini was named Coach of the Year for the second season in a row.

After capturing the program’s first ever KCAC Championship with a perfect 9-0 record, the Coyotes will be the no.1 seed in this weekend’s KCAC Post-Season Tournament, playing the winner of the Friends at Ottawa match on Friday at 5:30 in McPherson.
