Kelli Beatty earns KCAC and NAIA honors for second straight week
By: David Toelle, KWU Sports Information

Beatty

LINDSBORG – Kelli Beatty has been named as the KCAC and NAIA Region IV Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for her efforts in competition last week.

It is the second consecutive week that Beatty has earned both honors at the KCAC and NAIA Region IV levels.

The junior goalkeeper from Diamond Bar, Calif., was in goal in Wesleyan’s only match of the week, a 4-0 win over Ottawa last Wednesday. In the match she had three saves in 90 minutes of play in helping the Lady Coyotes to the team’s fourth straight shutout and tenth consecutive win.

On the season, Beatty is a perfect 14-0 overall, and has only allowed two goals in nearly 1100 minutes of action.

Kansas Wesleyan is back in action on Wednesday afternoon in Hillsboro against Tabor. Wesleyan then heads to Saint Mary to make up last Saturday’s rainout against the Spires before wrapping up the regular season on Saturday at home against Bethany.

Saturday’s Bethany match has been moved to Salina Stadium and will start at 7 p.m., approximately one hour after the completion of KWU’s football game with Saint Mary.
