Kansas Wesleyan has swept the KCAC weekly men’s soccer awards for efforts last week in a 3-1 win over Oklahoma Christian.
Goalkeeper Robert Carrillo was named as the Defensive Player of the Week, and forward Arturo Guizar was named as the Offensive Player of the Week.
Carillo, a senior from Los Angeles, gave up one goal in 90 minutes in the Coyotes’ only match of the week against Oklahoma Christian University.
Guizar, a junior from Bellflower, Calif., was one of three KWU players to score a goal in the match against Oklahoma Christian. Guizar’s rebound put back of a shot put the Coyotes ahead 2-0 and ended up being the eventual game winning goal in the 24th minute.
The Coyotes wrap up their brutal non-conference schedule on Wednesday when they head to Parkville, Mo., to take on the No.11 ranked Park Pirates at 5:00 at Julian Field.
Wesleyan then opens its conference schedule on Saturday when the Coyotes head to Sterling to take on the Warriors.
