Ashley Coker named KCAC Pitcher of the Week

Ashley Coker was named the KCAC Pitcher of the Week for her performances last week, as the Coyotes went 3-1 during the week, sweeping the University of Saint Mary and splitting with Ottawa University.
Coker pitched in all four games, winning two, and having two no decisions.
In game one against Saint Mary, she pitched two innings in relief, giving up two hits and one run, while striking out six and walking just one. In game two against Saint Mary, she pitched a complete game, giving up two runs on five hits while striking out ten.
In game one against Ottawa, she pitched 3.2 innings in relief, giving up three runs on one hit, while striking out four and walking two. In game two against Ottawa, Coker threw a two-hitter, allowing two runs, both unearned while striking out ten and walking four.
For the week, Coker threw 360 pitches – 41, 123, 63, 133 in the four games. She pitched a total of 19.2 innings, giving up eight runs, five of them earned, on ten hits. She recorded a total of 30 strikeouts and walked only ten.
After going 3-1 last week, KWU improved its record to 4-16-1 overall and 4-4 in the KCAC.
