Softball adds trio for 2009

Kansas Wesleyan softball adds a trio of players to the 2009 signing class. Head Coach Jenny King announces the signing of Aimee Fisher, Brecken McDaniel and Casee Contreras to letters of intent. This makes a total of 11 players King has signed for the 2009 season so far.

Fisher, a native of Junction City, Kan., comes to Kansas Wesleyan after playing the last season and this season at Allen County Community College in Iola. Last season as a freshman she hit .188 in 35 games with 13 hits. She is a catcher by trade, but can also play infield positions. She is the daughter of Doug and Kaye Fisher of Junction City, Kan.

McDaniel, a native of Westphalia, Kan., comes to Kansas Wesleyan after being teammates with Fisher this year at Allen County, playing outfield for coach Ed Wilkerson. McDaniel attended Emporia State after prepping at Anderson County High School in Garnett where she was named First Team All-League her junior and senior seasons. She is the daughter of Thane and Dena McDaniel of Westphalia.

Contreras, a native of San Antonio, Texas, will come to KWU next season after playing at East Central High School in San Antonio, Texas. The outfielder also played club ball for the San Antonio Nightmare and coach Ray Soto. She was named to the All-Academic Team. She is the daughter of George and Lori Contreras of San Antonio.
