KWU Softball signs Taylor Gilliland

Kansas Wesleyan Softball coach Jenny King announces the signing of Taylor Gilliland to a letter of intent.
Gilliland, a native of Las Vegas, Nev., will come to Kansas Wesleyan next season after playing the last four years at Spring Valley High School in Las Vegas for coach Marcus Teal.
Gilliland, primarily a pitcher, was named as the 2006 Offensive Player of the Year, and was named Second Team All-Division in 2006 and 2007, and will become a four-year varsity letterwinner after the 2008 campaign. She hit .513 as a sophomore to help her team finish 18-10 and second in the Southwest Division of the Sunset Region. In 2007, Spring Valley was 10-9 overall and finished fourth in the southwest division. Gilliland hit .476 last season with 42 hits, and had a 1.67 ERA pitching in 63 innings.
She also played on the Las Vegas Blast 18U club team.
She is the daughter of Robert and Jacqueline Gilliland of Las Vegas.
