Third seeded Kansas Wesleyan opens softball regional play Thursday

McPHERSON – The NAIA Region IV Softball Tournament begins Thursday at Wall Park, and Kansas Wesleyan is the no.3 seed in the tournament.
The Coyotes will play their opening round game on Thursday at 10 a.m., against sixth seeded Park University. Wesleyan is 22-16 and finished as the runner-up in the KCAC Softball Tournament.
Friends is the top seed in the tournament and Bellevue University is the no.2 seed. Both teams receive byes into the second round. Friends will face the winner of the no.4 seeded Ottawa vs. no.5 seeded Bethany game at noon on Thursday. Bellevue will face the Park/Kansas Wesleyan winner also at noon on Thursday.
If Kansas Wesleyan loses their opening round game, the Coyotes will play Thursday at 2:30.
The Tournament championship rounds are set to begin on Friday at 10 a.m., with the tournament champion advancing to the NAIA National Softball Championships which begin May 16 in Decatur, Alabama.
