Rogers places eighth, Kindler named Regional Coach of the Year
By: David Toelle, KWU Sports Information

Alexa Rogers finished eighth in the women’s javelin at the NAIA National Outdoor Track and Field Championships held at Fresno Pacific University in Fresno, Calif., last weekend.

Rogers’ throw of 133-8 helped KWU score one point at the national meet, something that hasn’t been done by a Coyote women’s track athlete in several years. Lauren Sexton of Concordia ( Ore.) won the event with a throw of 157-3. Rogers finished a little less than two feet behind fellow Kansas Conference thrower Beka Whitcomb of Bethany.

Head Coach Zach Kindler was also named NAIA Region IV Women’s Coach of the Year, as voted on by the coaches of the region.
