Coyotes post 23 All-KCAC marks at KCAC Track Championships

NORTH NEWTON – Matt Case won the KCAC Men’s Shot Put title as Kansas Wesleyan posted 23 All-KCAC marks at the 2007 KCAC Track and Field Championships held at Bethel College.

Case easily won the shot put, throwing nearly two feet further than second place. Case’s 47-6.75 toss bested Omar Humphrey’s second place throw of 45-10.75.

Nicole Heptig brought home three All-KCAC and two Honorable Mention All-KCAC marks on the women’s side. She finished third in the steeplechase, and was part of the women’s 1600m relay team that finished third, and the 3200m relay team that also finished third.

Other members of the relay teams that earned All-KCAC honors on the women’s side included Kara Walker, Camia McDaniel and Amy Grace in the 1600m relay and Walker, Sarah Williams and Yeleny Torres in the 3200m relay.

Amy Waterman in the shot put and Alexa Rogers in the javelin were also All-KCAC performers.

On the men’s side, Simeon Seiler was the only other All-KCAC finisher, placing third in the 400m dash.

The women also posted 13 Honorable Mention All-KCAC marks, while the men posted three Honorable Mention marks.

The women finished the team results is sixth place, while Southwestern continued its dominance of the KCAC track and field world, winning the meet with 192 points.

KWU’s men finished ninth overall, while Southwestern easily ran away with the title, scoring 212 points, more than doubling up Friends who finished second with 104.
