Waterman finishes 12th at NAIA Indoor Nationals

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – Amy Waterman finished 12th in the shot put at the NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships.
It was sophomore’s second appearance in the NAIA Indoor National Meet, as she qualified last year as a freshman.
Waterman threw 12.69m (41’ 7.75”) to earn her 12th place finish, just ahead of Emily Alderfer of Malone (Ohio), who threw 12.50m (41’ 0”).
Aubrey Baxter of Black Hills State (S.D.) won the event with a throw of 15.62m (51’ 3”).
Oklahoma Baptist was named the 2007 NAIA Women’s Indoor Track National Champion as they edged out Wayland Baptist (Texas) by 1.33 points to capture the team title.
Next track action for the Coyotes is on Thursday, as they open the outdoor portion of the schedule at the Southwestern (Kan.) Invitational in Winfield.
