HUTCHINSON – Alexa Rogers became the second KWU track athlete to qualify for NAIA Outdoor Nationals, as she hit the “B” standard in the women's javelin on Monday at the Hutch Night Relays.
The meet, originally scheduled for Saturday, was moved up two days because of inclement weather conditions.
Rogers threw 129 feet to win the event by nearly eight feet over Bethany’s Amber Dunham.
It’s the second year in a row for Rogers to qualify for NAIA Outdoor Nationals, held this year at Fresno Pacific University in Fresno, Calif.
The Coyotes came away with several top ten performances at the meet, including three event wins – Rogers in the javelin, Sarah Williams in the 5000m and Simeon Seiler in the men’s 400m.
The Coyotes are back in action on Friday at the ACCK Championships at Bethel College in North Newton.
