Wesleyan distance runners finish well at Go! St. Louis Half Marathon

ST. LOUIS – Four Kansas Wesleyan distance runners competed on April 6 in the Go! St. Louis Half Marathon, and finished near the top, with all four competitors finishing in the top 90 of over 8,100 entrants in the event.
Jolene Mick and Sarah Williams ran on the women’s side, both qualifying for NAIA Outdoor Nationals in the Marathon, based on their half marathon times. Williams finished 85th overall with a 1:26:20, which earned her fourth overall among all women entries and first in her age division of 20-24. Mick ran a 1:26:22, finishing 87th overall, sixth among the women and third in her age division, which had nearly 850 entries.
Both runners easily eclipsed the NAIA “A” qualifying standard for the marathon, based on half marathon of 1:33:00.
Seth Schooley and Paul Minneman ran on the men’s side. Schooley finished 19th overall out of over 8,100 entries in the race in 1:17:47, just missing the NAIA Nationals qualifying mark of 1:17:40 by seven seconds. He finished fourth in his age division of males 20-24.
Minneman finished 26th overall in 1:19:30, and won the male 19-and-under age division.
