KWU Cross Country and Track signs pair for 2009-2010

Kansas Wesleyan track and cross country coach Jeff Barker announces the signing of a pair of cross country and track and field athletes for the 2009-2010 seasons to letters of intent.

Kyle Sieve of Topeka Seaman and Jordan Evans of Clay Center have signed to become Coyotes next year.
Sieve, a senior at Topeka’s Seaman High School, will run cross country and track at Kansas Wesleyan next year.
Sieve starred for the Vikings and coach Eric Meyer. Sieve ran a 16:48 5K last fall, and helped his team win their KSHSAA Class 5A Regional Championship and qualify as a team for the State Championships. He finished 14th overall at the KSHSAA Class 5A State Meet at Lawrence’s Rim Rock Cross Country course, and continued on to earn First Team All-Centennial League honors, and First Team All-Region honors in Class 5A. He was also named First Team All-City by the Topeka Capital-Journal.

In track, Sieve qualified for the Kansas Class 5A State Championships last Spring in Wichita and finished 13th in the 3200m run in 10:26.08.
He is the son of Mark and Edie Sieve of Topeka.
Evans, a senior at Clay Center Community High School, will also run for Barker and the Coyotes next season.
Evans finished 19th at the KSHSAA Class 4A regional cross country meet last fall, running an 18:35.90. Previously, Evans and his Tiger teammates twice qualified for the KSHSAA Class 4A State Cross Country Meet in Wamego in 2006 and 2007.
He is the son of Bryan and Konnie Evans of Clay Center.
