Three Cuyamaca Community College athletes sign with Kansas Wesleyan
Kansas Wesleyan University Head Cross Country and Track and Field coach Zach Kindler announces the signing of three Cuyamaca Community College athletes to letters of intent
Robert Hernandez, a El Cajon, Calif. native, signs with the Coyotes. He was named All-Conference in cross country in 2003 and 2004, as well as being named All-CIF in 2004. In track, he was named All-Conference in 2005.
Yeleny Torres, also a El Cajon native, has also signed with the Coyotes. Torres was a member of the CCC team that finished as conference runners up in 2005. She was also the recipient of the Athlete Committed to Excellence Award in 2004.
Nicole Nicastro, a Lakeside, Calif. native, will also join the Coyotes next season. She was also a member of the 2005 conference runners-up, as well as being named All-Conference in track last spring.
“These are three quality athletes that will make immediate impacts on our programs here at Kansas Wesleyan,” Kindler said. “They have junior college experience, which is a plus, as well as being top caliber athletes, a definite plus as we try to make runs for the KCAC titles in cross country and track.”
Kansas Wesleyan University is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), and of the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC). The KCAC is a conference of ten small private colleges in Kansas.
