Two Volleyball players earn NAIA All-Region honors

Kolby Rhoades and Kristal Griffeth have earned NAIA All-Region IV honors for their contributions to KWU Volleyball during the 2006 season.
Rhoades (5-8, OH, Jr., Burlington, Colo.) was named to the NAIA All-Region IV First Team. She led the KCAC with a 4.35 kills per game average. She also was named KCAC Player of the Year and First Team All-KCAC. She was the first KWU player to go over 400 kills in a season since Jennifer Joy in 2002. She was named KCAC Player of the Week for four consecutive weeks during KWU’s 12-match winning streak.
Griffeth (6-1, MH, Sr., Beatrice, Neb.) was named to the NAIA All-Region IV Second Team. Griffeth was ranked eighth in the KCAC in kills at 2.89 per game, and ranked second in the KCAC in blocks per game. She was also named First Team All-KCAC, and was once named KCAC Player of the Week, and NAIA Region IV Player of the Week.
Kansas Wesleyan finished the 2006 season with a 20-12 overall record, including a 14-4 record in KCAC play, which tied the Coyotes for second place in the conference with Bethel. Wesleyan had a 12-match winning streak at the end of the regular season, which included an undefeated run through the second half of KCAC play.
