By: David Toelle, KWU Sports Information

MacLennan

Landree MacLennan has been chosen as the KCAC Volleyball Setter of the Week, for her efforts in the Coyotes’ two wins last week over Ottawa and Saint Mary.

MacLennan, a freshman from Byers, Colo., averaged 11.33 assists per game for the Coyotes this week.

MacLennan’s play was key for the Coyotes as they snapped a three match losing skid with the sweep of Ottawa last Tuesday.

MacLennan makes a set against Ottawa

Against Ottawa, MacLennan had 28 assists in the three games. She also had six digs and one assisted block as the Coyotes beat the Braves 30-24, 30-24, 30-20.

Against Saint Mary, the top blocking team in the KCAC, MacLennan had 40 assists (13.33) average as the Coyotes racked up 49 kills on the night. She also had three kills in three attempts (1.0 avg, 1.000 attack percentage) and two serve aces. The Coyotes swept the Spires 30-26, 30-22, 30-17.

The two sweeps helped the Coyotes get back to .500 overall at 10-10, and finish the first round of KCAC play at 5-4.

The Coyotes improved their record to 11-10 overall and 6-4 in conference play Monday night with a 3-0 sweep of Sterling, 30-19, 30-18, 30-21. The Coyotes were led by Kolby Rhoades’ 13 kills, while Griffeth added 11 kills and 4.5 blocks.

Next action for KWU is Wednesday when they host Southwestern at 7:00 PM inside Muir Gymnasium.
