Kansas Wesleyan sweeps KCAC Volleyball weekly honors

LINDSBORG – It was a clean sweep for the Kansas Wesleyan University Volleyball program, as three Lady Coyotes were named to the three weekly awards given by the conference.

Kolby Rhoades was named Player of the Week, Kelli Berg was the Setter of the Week and Karissa Kent was named Libero / Defensive Specialist of the Week for their efforts as the Lady Coyotes went 3-0 last week.
Rhoades, a 5-8 senior hitter from Burlington, Colo., had an incredible week, averaging 4.1 kills, 4.1 digs, 1.3 aces and had four solo and two assisted blocks in ten games during the week. She had a kill percentage of .193. The reigning 2006 KCAC Player of the Year also earned NAIA Region IV Player of the Week honors for her efforts in the Lady Coyotes’ three wins.
Berg, a 5-9 senior setter from Logan, averaged 12.1 assists per game in the ten games last week. She had 52 assists in the win over Central Methodist on Saturday, she also averaged 2.3 digs per game for the week.

Kent |
Kent, a 5-8 junior from Huntington Beach, Calif., has been a welcome addition to the Wesleyan back row. She averaged 5.8 digs and had zero passing errors in 75 attempts in helping the Lady Coyotes complete a perfect week. Kent also earned NAIA Region IV Defensive Player of the Week honors for her efforts. In addition to her strong defensive numbers, she had three aces in seven serve attempts during the week.
Winners of their last 15 regular season KCAC matches, the Lady Coyotes host arch-rival Bethany on Tuesday night at Muir Gymnasium. Bethany enters the night sharing the best record in the KCAC in the 2007 season with Wesleyan.
