Rhoades and Kent earn KCAC Player of the Week honors

Kolby Rhoades and Karissa Kent have been named as the KCAC Player and Setter of the Week, respectively, for their efforts in three wins for the Coyotes during the week ending October 28.
Rhoades, a 5-8 senior outside hitter from Burlington, Colo., averaged 6.0 kills and 5.3 digs in ten of 11 team games during the week. She was extremely efficient with her attacks, with a .345 hitting percentage. She also tallied five aces and five solo and two assisted blocks.
Against Bethany, she had 18 kills and 15 digs as the Coyotes avenged an earlier loss to the Swedes in the teams’ first meeting during the season. Against Southwestern she played only three of the four games in the match, and totaled 23 kills and another 15 digs. In the final match of the week against Bethel, she had 18 kills and 23 digs to go along with three aces.
Kent, a 5-8 junior libero from Huntington Beach, Calif., had 20-plus digs in all three matches during the week, as well as three aces.
Against Bethany, she had 21 digs and two aces as the Coyotes avenged an earlier loss to the Swedes in the teams’ first meeting during the season. Against Southwestern she had 24 digs. In the final match of the week against Bethel, she had 21 digs.
Kansas Wesleyan heads into the final week of the regular season, clinching no less than a share of the KCAC championship with two matches remaining. The Coyotes host McPherson in the regular season home finale on Tuesday, and wrap up the regular season on Thursday at Ottawa.
