KWU sweeps KCAC volleyball honors, Kent earns regional nod

Kansas Wesleyan swept the KCAC Volleyball weekly honors for the final week of regular season play, while one player earned NAIA Region IV honors for their efforts for the week ending November 2.
Sarah Claborn, Kelli Berg, and Karissa Kent were named KCAC Player, Setter and Defensive player of the week, respectively; while Kent went on to earn NAIA Region IV honors at defensive specialist.

Claborn |
Claborn, a 5-8 junior outside hitter from Aurora, Colo., was named as the KCAC Player of the Week. She averaged 6.5 kills and 5.67 digs per game in six games for the Coyotes last week. She also was very efficient attacking the ball, with a .344 kill percentage on the week. Against McPherson, she had 21 kills and 16 digs in three games.

Berg |
Berg, a 5-9 senior setter from Logan, Kan., was named as the KCAC Setter of the Week. She averaged 12.17 assists and 4.67 digs per game in six games as the Coyotes picked up two match wins. Against McPherson, she had 31 assists and 12 digs, and she added 42 assists and 16 digs against Ottawa.

Kent |
Kent, a 5-8 junior libero from Huntington Beach, Calif., was named as the KCAC Defensive Player of the Week. She also earned NAIA Region IV Defensive Player of the Week honors. She averaged 5.17 digs in the six games during the week, while recording a .956 passing percentage.
Kansas Wesleyan wrapped up its first regular season KCAC Championship since the 1998 season with a 17-1 record conference record. KWU is currently 24-7 overall and is riding a 15-match winning streak as the Coyotes head into the KCAC Post-Season Tournament as the No.1 seed, and will play No.4 seeded Tabor on Thursday at 7 p.m. inside Muir Gymnasium.
