Three Lady Coyotes named All-KCAC

WICHITA – Kansas Wesleyan University landed three women’s basketball players on the All-KCAC teams as selected by the KCAC coaches.
Ascendra Peters was named First Team All-KCAC, while Kaylaen Dittmer and Jentri Dixon were named Honorable Mention All-KCAC selections.

Peters |
Peters, a 5-8 senior guard/forward from Daingerfield, Texas, finished the regular season averaging 15.2 points per game, second best in the KCAC. She also led the conference in field goal percentage at 50.8 percent, was third in the KCAC in free throw percentage at 83.6 percent, 11th in rebounding at 6.11 boards per game, and eighth in blocks per game at .89. She is a repeat First Team All-KCAC player, earning the same recognition last season.
Peters also finished her four-year career at Kansas Wesleyan etching her name in the record books in several categories. Last season as a junior, Peters set season marks in rebounds (242), and free throws made at 102. This season, Peters continued her assault on the record books. She set new career marks in rebounds (748), field goal percentage (42.1), free throws (333) and free throw percentage (78.7).

Dittmer |
Dittmer, a 5-8 sophomore guard from Tribune, was named Honorable Mention All-KCAC this season, after being named the KCAC Freshman of the Year in 2006. She finished the regular season ranked no.22 in scoring average in the KCAC at 9.6 points per game. She also finished the regular season ranked 14th in the KCAC in rebounds per game at 5.57, was third in the KCAC in steals at 2.64 per game and fourth in assists at 3.43 per game.

Dixon |
Dixon, a 5-10 senior guard/forward from Tribune, also received Honorable Mention All-KCAC honors. She finished the regular season ranked 20th in the KCAC in scoring average at 10 points per game, was 15th in rebounding at 5.29 per game and third in the KCAC in blocks per game at 1.14.
Kansas Wesleyan finished the season with an 11-19 record, including a four-game winning streak at the end of the season before falling to Ottawa in the Post-Season Tournament quarterfinals. It is the first time since the 1999-2000 campaign that the Lady Coyotes have had back-to-back double-digit wins seasons.
