Reimer fields a question from the media at KCAC Media Day in Wichita on Wednesday |
Coming off of a 14-15 season in 2006, the Kansas Wesleyan women were picked to finish fourth by the coaches and fifth by the media at the annual KCAC Basketball Media Day event at Friends University in Wichita.
Gordon Reimer enters his third season at the helm of the Coyotes, orchestrated a revival of Kansas Wesleyan Women’s hoops last season as the team improved from 5-24 in 2005 to 14-15 last season.
Key returners for the Coyotes this season include last year’s KCAC Freshman of the Year Kaylaen Dittmer, senior Ascendra Peters, and senior post Kayli Kauzlarich. Also returning are much improved sophomores Madison Askins and Khristy Santee.
Reimer’s recruiting efforts focused on solidifying the post play for Wesleyan. Reimer brought in quality junior college transfers at the post including Shannon Howard, and Jenny Menke.
The Wesleyan women play an extremely challenging non-conference schedule including William Jewell (Mo.), Columbia (Mo.), Baker (Kan.), Texas Wesleyan and Missouri Baptist.
The Coyotes tip off the 2007 season on November 1 at home against Columbia (Mo.) College.
