The Kansas Wesleyan University Women’s Basketball team lent a collective hand to a Salina resident as part of Project HUNT on October 6.
Project HUNT was developed by students from Kansas Wesleyan University and Kansas State University – Salina as a way for students from both schools to come together to help out in the community.
Approximately 200 students from both KWU and KSU-Salina volunteered their time in a variety of community service projects in the Salina area.
The Lady Coyote basketball team spent the morning at the home of Mrs. Pierce, trimming, mowing, sweeping and cleaning up the area around her home.
“It’s a good way to bring the team together and a great way to help out in the community,” junior captain Kaylaen Dittmer said.
Dittmer was also part of the group that helped organize Project HUNT.
Senior captain Charressa Gray agreed with Dittmer.
“It was a joy to be able to help out the way we did,” she said.
