Career Services

Career Counseling and Exploration
Individual career counseling is available to students by appointment. A counselor can assist you in choosing a career path, deciding a major, and exploring career options.
Current reference tools for exploring careers, researching occupations and graduate/professional schools, writing resumes and cover letters, and preparing for interviews are available for in-office use

CREDENTIALS
The Office of Career Services houses all teacher credential files. In order to have credentials sent to a potential employer you must have a signed consent of release on file with our office.

DISCOVER
DISCOVER is an interactive career guidance system designed to help students make effective career decisions by learning about their interests, values, and skills. DISCOVER can be accessed online at any computer for convenience. To use DISCOVER for the first time, you must sign up in the Office of Career Services so that we can issue you a user token, give you basic instructions on how to use DISCOVER, and set aside a follow-up appointment to ensure understanding of your results. You must keep this appointment with our staff or your access to DISCOVER will be restricted.

Coyote Career Connection
Part-time and full-time jobs are updated on a regular basis and posted both online and on the employment bulletin board located in the lower hallway of Pioneer Hall. Postings include current local, state, regional, and national employment opportunities, part time, full time, teaching, internships, and summer opportunities.

Mock Interviews
Several opportunities will be available during the year for students to work with business people from the Salina area to practice interview skills, receive helpful advice and opportunities to ask questions students may have concerning the interview process.

Resume and Cover Letter Preparation
Staff is available by appointment to assist and critique your resume and cover letters.

Events and Workshops
Staff is available to present information to a targeted audience on such topics as the following: interviewing strategies, writing resumes/cover letters, searching for jobs, etc. Additionally, upcoming career events will be posted on-line and information available in Career Services.
