As soon after January 1 as possible, complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) based on your parents' and/or your last year's federal income tax return. For fastest results, apply online at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
You may obtain a paper application from your high school counselor or KWU, but the paper process takes significantly longer. Be sure to code Kansas Wesleyan University (001929) and don't mail it to the processor. Instead, submit the paper application to the KWU Enrollment and Financial Services office for electronic transmission. If you've already mailed the FAFSA and did not enter the KWU code, call 1-800-4FEDAID.
If you're a Kansas resident and wish to apply for Kansas programs (except the Kansas Comprehensive Grant), also complete the state application at http://www.kansasregents.org/download/financialaid/StuFinAidApp.pdf
Apply for admission to KWU. Financial Assistance requires acceptance for admission before funds can be allocated. The priority deadline is March 15 preceding enrollment. All financial assistance must be applied for and finalized by the end of registration week.
IMPORTANT: Apply early! All assistance is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. The first priority date for financial assistance application is March 15 preceding enrollment. All funds are credited to the student's account and applied to tuition, fees, room, board, and other miscellaneous charges.
