On Tuesday, April 24, the KWU track team participated in the CEO Tricycle Race to benefit Saint Francis Community Services. The race, designed to raise
funds for the “Stepping Stones for Tomorrow” campaign for a new psychiatric residential treatment facility. The new facility will serve a diverse and growing population of at-risk children and youth, ages 6-18. Although the team lost the race, coach Brent Bailey was thrilled to contribute time and energy to the event.
“It was an absolute blast for my athletes and gave my runners a way to give back to the community,” Bailey said. “I hope we can do it again next year.”
Saint Francis Community Services is a faith-based, non-profit organization that provides an array of child and family-based services including adoption, family preservation, alcohol and drug treatment, foster care, and community outreach.
The team was able to participate due to a $500 anonymous donation.
