The athletic department at Kansas Wesleyan University is spearheading another campaign to raise funds for breast cancer awareness. Last year, the volleyball and soccer teams presented a check for $4700 to Tammy Walker Cancer Center and this year the goal is $6,000 for the same organization.
This week, the Coyote teams celebrate “Pink Week” on campus; everyone is encouraged to wear pink to the Coyote sporting events. The volleyball and soccer teams will auction pink Nike game day jerseys, with a minimum bid starting at $50, the football team will auction one home game jersey, and pink Coyote t-shirts will be available for purchase at $10 each or $12 for sizes xxl and up. In addition, the volleyball team will raffle three pink volleyballs; soccer will raffle two pink balls, and football will auction the game ball from this Saturday’s contest against Bethel College. Raffle tickets will be just $1 each. The cheer and dance squad will raffle a signed KWU megaphone. In addition, at each contest, there will be a bake sale and half of the door proceeds from the football game will benefit Tammy Walker.
